Families to help them navigate through their Financial Lifecyle.
Military OneSource In-Person Financial Counseling
In-person financial counseling is available in most locations through Military OneSource, in partnership with National Foundation for Credit Counseling (NFCC).
What to expect: Military OneSource arranges for you to meet face-to-face
with a financial consultant in your community. Up to 12 counseling sessions per
issue, per calendar year are allowed for each eligible client.
Who can use it: The sessions are available to military and family
members located in the continental U.S. For those who are unable to attend in-person
counseling or in locations where not available, MOS will provide telephone consultations.

Military OneSource Telephonic Financial Counseling
This program is specially designed to provide short-term, solution-focused financial
counseling for military and family members.
Who can use it: Service Members and Families who may be experiencing
a financial setback
What to expect: Whether you need advice for a specific debt problem
or basic assistance with money management, a financial expert can help you analyze
your situation and assist you in developing an action plan.

Military OneSource Telephonic Financial Planning
Specialized financial planning consultations are provided by an affiliate group
of Certified Financial Planners.
Who can use it: Telephonic financial planning consultation is available
for Service Members and their Families wishing to plan ahead or secure current financial
stability
What to expect: Military OneSource will arrange a telephonic appointment
with Financial Planners who can address topics such as insurance, taxes, basics
of investing, IRAs, mutual funds, retirement planning, TSP/401(k)/403(b) questions,
money management, and how to find and select a local financial planner. The financial
planner will not give investment advice.

MHN Government Services Personal Financial Counselor Program
MHN has provided a network of over 1,000 Personal Financial Counselors (PFCs) who are
ready to provide Service Members and Families with professional, individualized
financial planning and consultation services.
Who can use it: Any Service Members or Family Members who may be
interested in bolstering their financial readiness, productivity, and overall family
stability.
What to expect: PFCs meet in either individual sessions or group
presentations and offer basic skills assistance—checkbook and budget planning—as
well as a variety of other types of financial advice and education.
