Established in 2000, the Reserve Family Readiness Awards recognize National Guard and Reserve units, one from each of the seven Reserve Components, that demonstrate outstanding programs supporting their military families. Representatives from each of the winning units were in attendance and received a commemorative plaque and framed certificate from Wilkie and Atkins

Global and Homeland Needs

The National Guard Joint Service Support portal was accessed more than 1.4 million times in FY18, a 20% increase over last year. The Army National Guard Family Assistance Centers addressed more than 1.6 million resource and referral inquires and outreach calls in FY18 at 400 geographically dispersed National Guard armories and Reserve centers. The services most used were finance, ID Cards / DEERS and community outreach. Air National Guard Airmen and Family Readiness Program Managers reached nearly 225,000 service members and their families in FY18 by assisting Airmen and families with adapting to the challenges associated with military life. „ Army National Guard Child

A Survivor's Story

Survivor Angela Powell-Woulfe tells her story of how she overcame adversity after her father, a Michigan Army National Guardsman, made the choice to end his life. Her powerful story serves as a beacon for others to connect to as she has been courageous enough to share her story of how she fought through the tragedy of suicide to become a remarkable survivor.
